Facilities for Planning Students

The MPlan course is housed in the Department of Geography, located in the Richardson Building. Most students work in the Planning Studio and associated study rooms. The Planning Studio includes a library of planning documents, reports and studies.

Each study room has computer facilities. Planning students also have ready access to several clusters of networked computers in the Richardson Building operated by the University Information Technology Services (ITS). These provide access to advanced word processing, database, spreadsheet and e-mail facilities, as well as to the library on-line catalogue. Computing tutorials and short-courses are available to assist MPlan students. Students also have access to the GIS labs in Geography and Surveying.

Maps and other resources are available in the Geography Department's Map Library. The University's Central Library provides 2000+ study spaces, facilities for users with disabilities, 17 group study rooms and multiple access to databases and other electronic resources. Nearly 700,000 items including about 4,000 print and over 4,000 electronic journals are available.
